In every green house, density of light is a major factor for the plants. For this reason, North American Greenhouse Supplies has introduced the world's portable light meter. The Light Monitoring System (LMS) is capable of measuring a wide range of luminous of light for any hydroponic grower. This is brought to you using the latest electronic technology and using a silicon pin photodiode enhanced for blue sensitivity.
The LMS meter is very easy to operate. It is designed to measure the luminous of light in the unit of Lux. It has only an on/off switch to display readings on a large seven segment LCD display. The LMS meter comes in a specially designed hand held case.
Introduction
Digital light meter is design to measure the Luminous of light in the unit of Lux. The meter indicates the lumen of light measurement on a large 31/2, 7-segment LCD display. The units display the measured range from 0 to 199900 Lux. It is use 9V battery as a power source.
It is using a quick respond silicon photo pin diode as a sensor material with the operating temperature of -40 degree to 80 degree Celsius.

Preparing and Measuring Luminous of Light
1.Unpack meter
2.Turn the switch on, which locate at the right hand side of the meter.
3.Held the meter to the light source you want to measure (be sure to point the sensor toward to light source).
4.In a few second the display unit will indicate the value of the measured light
Calibration of the Light
If calibrated is needed, use a new High Pressure Sodium (H.P.S) or Metal Halide (M.H) bulb to calibrate. Mount the bulb vertically and measure one foot away from the middle of the bulb. Below is the specification of the bulb for calibrate the meter (Table 1):
Table 1
1.Insert a small flat head screwdriver into the left of the two’s calibration hole (Figure 1). Gently turn the screwdriver until it is properly seated in the screw slot.

2.Slowly turn the screwdriver to adjust the reading until it matches the Luminous of the bulb.
3.If you need a higher rang on the reading please insert a small Phillip (#00) screwdriver into the right of the two’s calibration hole. Gently turn the screwdriver until it is properly seated in the screw head. Make sure don’t over turn it or else you will damage the Calibration resistor.
4.Slowly turn the screwdriver to adjust the range.
5.After you finish adjusts the range; don’t forget to recalibrate the reading-using step 1 and 2.
