I really didn't think that filters were that important, until I looked at mine about 2 months into the grow cycle. Holy cow, do those filters pick up the crap in the water and nutrients, and very important to keep clear and clean of all debris. Good thing they sell replacements......I let mine go way too long, cheap enough to replace though!
